Should you have an engagement ‘practice’ shoot before your Wedding Day?
You might face this question in the lead up to your Wedding Day. Perhaps, you’re feeling a little camera-shy, and the thought of carving out time in a busy schedule to be in front of the camera ahead of the big day - feels like the lowest priority. To help you make the right choice, let’s explore having an engagement photoshoot—and how it can set the stage for your wedding day.
My photography style & approach to capturing your Wedding Day.
When you step into portfolio and photography work, you're entering a space where every image is crafted with love, emotion, and a deep sense of storytelling. My approach to photography, especially within the realm of weddings, is about more than just capturing moments—it's about preserving the essence of a day, the connection between people, and the emotions that make each day unforgettable.
Autumn Golden Hour at Blake Hall, Essex
As I made my way to Blake Hall, a beautiful venue just outside London, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement - although it was October, the weather was perfect for an autumn wedding day and I was given the incredible opportunity to document an intimate wedding in this picturesque setting.
The estate boasted a stunning barn and breathtaking grounds that, in the autumn light - would be the perfect backdrop to romantic and fun portraits.
A King’s Coronation, Millbridge Court
One of the things we often get asked as Wedding Photographers, is: “What happens if it rains?” and I totally get it. Months and sometimes even years - can go into planning that all important special day. And, it shouldn’t be outside the realms of possibility - that a Saturday in late Spring - should be warm and sunny - shouldn’t it?
The Gypsy Westwood Experience, Ibiza
Ibiza was one of the first places I visited once lock-down had been lifted. It was early Summer - that uncertain time where Covid was all at once - a distant, but vidid memory. It was also by chance, a spur-of-the-moment holiday that had been put together in a matter of weeks. I was accompanying my oldest friend and fellow photographer to Ibiza for a family wedding.
